If you want to attend a show with great music, endless energy, and some pretty funny British guys, then you must catch a Down to the Bone show. From the first note played, this group had everyone moving. That signature groove made this night go way too quickly. The band featured Paul “Shilts” Weimar (tenor sax), Katisse Buckingham (alto sax/flute), Bill Steinway (keys), Allen Hinds (guitar), Rufus Philpot (bass), and Tony Moore (drums). And you can't forget the man behind the creation of the band, Stuart Wade. The nearly sold out show was flawless and left everyone anticipating the next time they will be in town.

DTTB played a number of tracks from their new CD, Spread Love Like Wildfire, which were very well received. This CD has a totally retro vibe and a killer horn section on almost every track. “Pure Funk” was just that. It had the crowd on their feet and gettin' down to the groove. “London Life” features Shilts on sax and has that underground club feel. Shilts is incredibly talented and has a great sense of humor that he shares with the audience.

The first single released from the new CD, “Tiburon,” is incredibly fun and funky. With the two saxes playing side-by-side, all you want to do is dance. Allen Hinds was featured in the great guitar piece, “Gotta Get Back to You.” He is so much fun to watch because he is truly enjoying himself. “Vinyl Junkie” is always a crowd favorite, especially when Katisse Buckingham gets into his rap mode. He is terrific and really pulls the crowd in to participate with his rapping or his tremendous flute playing. “Zodiac,” a high energy, very intense keyboard song, is the one that every fan craves. Regardless of who is playing for DTTB… this night it was Bill Steinway… you are left wondering how many hands are being used to fly across those keys! Last, but not least, the old favorite, “Brooklyn Heights,” the song that brought this group to the forefront, had everyone dancing…even on the stage!

This was definitely a fun show with electrifying energy. You can't help but have a great time with Down to the Bone.
