How do you make a warm, rainy Washington, DC evening even hotter? Take 300 of your closest friends, who are itching for some great music, and put Paul Taylor on stage! WJZW held its monthly After-Work Party…and a party it was! Paul Taylor and his band hit the stage and took over. From the first note, we all knew this was going to be a dance-fest!

Paul opened up with “Enjoy the Ride,” which got the crowd moving right away. He went right into “East Bay Bounce,” from the new CD, Nightlife. The crowd was very receptive to the new tracks and cheered, danced, and begged for more. Paul was more than happy to oblige and played “Don't Wait Up.” Next up were some amazing vocals by drummer Bonny B on the song, “Tender Love.” What a treat that was! Who knew he had that romantic, smooth voice hidden behind those cymbals?! Other tracks played were “PT Cruiser',” the ever popular “Pleasure Seeker,” and Steppin' Out.” After a short break, the second set continued with more familiar favorites and new tracks, including “Hypnotic,” “After Hours,” and “Nightlife.”

Paul Taylor has so much energy and had the crowd on their feet the entire evening. And if PT and his music weren't hot enough, there was no air-onditioning in the ballroom of the Washington Plaza Hotel. Paul heated up the place so much that posters were literally peeling off the walls! This was definitely one of the most fun After-Work parties hosted by the local station. I definitely recommend an evening of Paul Taylor for everyone who needs a pick-me-up!
